Updated software

XAVC support:

For the first outstanding feature, many powerful camcorders can shoot under this XAVC mode, like Sony, Panasonic, JVC and Canon all have many series HD Camcorder which can such job.

Most XAVC codec will shot in MXF format, this may be good for importing quality ,but may be a big problem for their users. Although Sony has offered their XAVC plug-in to help customer to solve this problem, but many users still replay that they can’t do anything about their videos. How to tackle that? New Pavtube relevant Video converter software can handle this highest level video standard. XAVC can support 4K (4.96×2160 and 3840×2160), which just cater the trend of 4K.

Add H.265/HEVC Decode and Encode:

All Pavtube Video Converter Ultimate products have added the H.265/HEVC decode/encode. You may very family about H.264/MPEG-4, but may not know about this H.265/HEVC. Actually, those two codec are said to double the date compression at the same level of video quality. This H.265 can be said as the Intro Time of 4K Generation. This H.265/HEVC is considered not only play a remarkable role on improving the image quality but also can support 4K resolution to UHDTV, the highest level can up to 8192×4320 (8k).

Like the hottest Samsung NX1 has already explore this brand new market. The 205-point phase-detection AF, 4K film resolution, H.265 compression coding, 15fps high-speed continuous shooting, etc., Samsung NX1 seems has already won the game.

But with this fast update of the H.265 camera, the related peripheral support software seems not get enjoy strength. Many media player and NELs still stick on the H.264, so how to get your H.265/HEVC video into compatible while quality maintained? The brand new Pavtube relevant Video software will be the best solution to deal with the H.265/HEVC. No quality drop, fast conversion, smooth playback, all you need is in this new Pavtube.

The Mac version is in full update, do please look forward to those brand new Pavtube relevant iMedia Converter for Mac!

Merry Christmas^^

A new Apple iPhone 6S could come in the spring of 2015 while the iPhone 7 is expected in the fall, according to the latest Apple rumor and gossip mill. A source of intrigue related to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in the coming year will be whether it chooses to call its next smartphone the iPhone 7 or iPhone 6s. Media is seemingly completely split on the subject, with many outlets already describing the next generation Apple handset as the iPhone 7, but an equal number are seemingly opting for the working title of the iPhone 6s.

iphone 7 concept Apple chooses Apple iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 in the coming 2015?

Previous strategy

Assessing which one of these will turn out to be accurate is an interesting undertaking. If we look at Apple’s previous strategy, then in recent years they have both marked out iPhone releases as being an entirely new generation, and also as an evolution over previous devices. This doesn’t give us a huge clue, but what it does do is outline the ethos of either potential name.

The iPhone 6s would indicate that the new Apple handset was very much an evolution from the iPhone 6, while if Apple chooses to name the device iPhone 7, then the implication is that this will be a massive change from previous devices. The latter name would obviously require Apple to produce some significantly innovative features, and possibly beef the spec of the device up beyond what would otherwise be necessary.

Earlier iPhone 6s?

Another intriguing prospect is that Apple could even conceivably release two separate devices with both names attached to them. Media is already speculating that an iPhone 6s could hit the stores relatively early in 2015, to be followed by an iPhone 7 later in the year. This would be a bold and surprising strategy, and it would look to be a long shot in all honesty, but it is interesting that numerous sources are reporting this as being a possibility.

apple watch Apple chooses Apple iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 in the coming 2015?

Dual Apple Watch release

In line with this suggestion, it has been reported that Apple may release the iPhone 6s simultaneously with theforthcoming smartwatch – the Apple Watch. Apple has been pretty quiet about this device, despite the fact that it has eventually confirmed its existence, but we do know that is pencilled in for an early release in 2015.

At one time it looked as if the Apple Watch could be delayed, but reports in the last 24 hours have stated that the production is now back on track, and this will enable Apple to release the Apple Watch sooner than was anticipated. It is therefore suggested that an iPhone 6s could accompany this smartwatch, and that the new smartphone may have specific functionality built into it which collaborates with the Apple Watch.

This is a possibility, but it must be stated that expecting Apple to release two completely new products in conjunction with one another would seem to be misplaced. Although the consumer electronics giant may choose to innovate with its next generation of products, there is no pressing need for Apple to take chances given that it is miles ahead of its competitors in the mobile marketplace.

iphone 7 Apple chooses Apple iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 in the coming 2015?

iPhone 7: Evolution or revolution?

So this really poses the question of whether or not the next iteration of the iPhone series will be a mere evolution over the existing iPhone 6, or whether it will represent a genuine revolution. Both views are certainly possible. On the one hand, as mentioned previously there is no particular requirement for Apple to do anything drastic. At the moment everything it touches turns to gold, and there have been absolutely no indications from sales of either iPhone 6 device that the company needs to change tack; indeed, they have all sold like hotcakes.

On the other hand, sometimes the best opportunity to innovate is from a position of strength, and Apple is certainly in that position at the moment. With its stock trading well above $100, and the company’s valuation reaching anew record high of $700 billion recently, Apple is by far the pre-eminent manufacturer of electronic devices in the world. Indeed, Forbes rates it as the company with the highest market value on the planet, and Apple’s market cap has increased by almost 50 percent since Forbes last released its rankings.

This would put Apple in a very strong position to release the sort of device with the next generation iPhone that was strongly rumored for the current generation. This could include a large raft of massive innovations and structural changes, and we may finally get to see the Sapphire Glass finish which was so strongly linked with the iPhone 6 series.

Such a notion points to the idea that Apple will definitely name its next smartphone the iPhone 7, and create a device which is significantly different from the iPhone 6. If this is the case, then a release date around September to October 2015 is an absolute certainty. (Read iPhone 7 preview concept)

But Apple may also choose to build on strong sales of the iPhone 6 with a small upgrade and spec increase enabling them to concentrate on other products. A natural name for such a device would be the iPhone 6s.

When talking about go-to remote desktop service, LogMeIn may first come into your mind. However since LogMeIn ended their freemium model, many folks will turn to TeamViewer as a superior alternative free tool.

team viewer 11 Tips For Using Team Viewer The Best Free Remote Desktop Connection Manager

TeamViewer is a software application used to connect to any computer or server around the world in just a few seconds. It’s many features include remote control, desktop sharing and file transfer between computers. And you can even access a computer running TeamViewer with a web browser! It is compatible with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS and Android. The “basic” free program has all you need in a remote desktop client, and here are 11 tips for you.

1. TeamViewer Is Cross Platform

2. Multiple Simultaneous Remote Sessions

Whether you need to help several people or want to access a second computer while helping someone else, the multiple sessions feature enables you to do that. In the top left corner, you’ll notice a “+”, which launches a new tabbed session within the same window.

3. Record Sessions For Later Viewing

Often times you might wish to review a session in order to remember something or to refer back to when you helped someone with tech support. While connected, go to “Extras” and “Record” in the toolbar at the top. Then you’ll see three options: Start, Pause and Stop. While a recording is in progress, a “REC” symbol (like on those old-fashioned video tapes) will appear in the top right corner of the window. Upon stopping the recording, you’ll be prompted to save the session file.

The video file is opened and played by TeamViewer and can even be converted to other video formats.

4. Seamless File Transfer

To do this, go to the TeamViewer toolbar, then “File Transfer”. You’re presented with two options: “File Transfer” (access files to share from your PC) and “File Box” (drag and drop files to share).

You can do this by going to “View” in the TeamViewer toolbar (while connected). You’ll be presented with several options: “Quality”, “Scaling”, “Screen Resolution”, as well as “Show whole desktop”, “Remove wallpaper” and others. It is a pity that years age Apple explicitly remove the DVD drives from the MacBook Air, there has been little from Microsoft indicating that this was going to be likely. Nowadays a lot of laptops are coming without DVD drives, like the super-thin ultrabooks or Apple’s new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air as I said before. The lack of a DVD drive might prevent you from installing your favourite apps or checking archive discs – even ripping your old CDs and DVDs.

no dvd drive No DVD Drive On Your Tablet Or Notebook? Use An Old Laptop Drive Instead!

Fortunately, where there are questions, there are workarounds. In addition to sharing an optical drive across your home network, you can also simple convert an old removable laptop DVD drive into an external optical drive.

1. Getting Started

What you need are two main components. The one, naturally, is the driv which is the compact “slimline” form factor that has more recently been incorporated into some of the desktop computers that still ship with optical drives. And the other is a external enclosure or housing kit, a relatively cheap device that will house your DVD drive and provide the necessary adaptor and power supply. Now find something suitable on eBay or Amazon (Like this).

Below is for an IDE/PATA optical drive, and will of course be useless for a device with a SATA connector. Make sure it is the correct housing you buy with compatible connectors before you re-purpose your slimline drive in this way!

ext dvd from laptop caddy No DVD Drive On Your Tablet Or Notebook? Use An Old Laptop Drive Instead!

To make the conversion, you will also need a suitable screwdriver. You can check exactly which size you need when you receive the housing kit.

Note:although this guide is only for removable drives, some fixed DVD drives might also be compatible. Of course you will only know this from stripping down your laptop – something that you shouldn’t do unless your computer has broken beyond repair.

2. Removing the DVD Drive from Your Laptop

Perhaps the easiest step, removal of your DVD drive is usually made possible thanks to a thumb-sized eject lever to the right or left of the DVD tray. Pushing this in enables you to remove the drive (which will be connected to the motherboard on the USB bus, although not with a USB connector) and remove it from the laptop.

ext dvd from laptop removal No DVD Drive On Your Tablet Or Notebook? Use An Old Laptop Drive Instead!

There are other methods of removing your slimline optical drive. For instance, there is often a locking screw that needs to be removed before the drive can be ejected. Other ejection options might involve several locking screws. Removal of such devices might require a pulling or levering the drive out. There might also be a catch, similar to the one often used to remove a laptop battery, that unlocks the optical drive for removal. For the best preparation, find the technical guide for your laptop to confirm the correct procedure.

Why do laptop manufacturers enable the removal of DVD drives? It’s mainly so that you can easily add upgrades; for instance, you might want to add a slimline Blu-ray drive to your laptop, or perhaps use the bay to add a larger hard disk drive.

Again, as mentioned previously, this guide is focused on explicitly removable optical drives – those with a lock and/or catch as described. Removal of a suitable optical device from within a sealed laptop (one with no facility to eject the device) will depend on the computer and the manufacturer’s specification.

3. Preparing the Enclosure

As you unpack the disc drive enclosure, you should notice that it comes in three parts. First is the main housing, into which the optical drive will be slipped. There should also be a new draw cover for your slimline drive, and four small screws.

ext dvd from laptop caddy parts No DVD Drive On Your Tablet Or Notebook? Use An Old Laptop Drive Instead!

Finally, you should see a long thin piece of circuit board, onto which the connectors will be mounted. One side of this will have a plug suitable for connecting to the slimline drive; flipping it over you will see two USB connectors. The kit should also ship with two USB cables (one data, one power), both of which will be required.

You should start by detaching the draw cover from your optical drive; this can be done by removing the screws found on the underside of the ejected disc drawer. You’ll also need to detach the eject mechanism from the side of the drive. When these have been removed, attach the new drive cover – this will be narrower and designed to work with the housing.

ext dvd from laptop caddy connector No DVD Drive On Your Tablet Or Notebook? Use An Old Laptop Drive Instead!

Once this is done, plug the connector strip into the back of your optical drive.

4. Fitting the DVD into the Caddy

That’s the hard part out of the way! All you should need to do now is place the optical drive into the lower half of your caddy/housing, keeping an eye on the support pins, then drop the top half into place, snapping it closed as you go. When this is done, fix it together using the screws provided.

ext dvd from laptop complete No DVD Drive On Your Tablet Or Notebook? Use An Old Laptop Drive Instead!

There are a couple of ways in which you might go wrong here. First, you could slip up by over-tightening the screws, as mentioned above. They need to be firmly tightened, but keep an eye on the case for any signs of distortion or crystallisation of the plastic, and slacken the screws if you see this.

You should also repeatedly test the eject button on your optical drive as you adjust the screws, in order to ensure that it doesn’t catch the housing as you insert and remove discs.

If everything is attached and opening and closing smoothly, you can get ready to test your new low-cost external optical drive!

5. Connecting the Drive to Your Computer

Now you’re done fitting the housing together, it’s time to connect your external DVD drive to your computer.

ext dvd from laptop usb No DVD Drive On Your Tablet Or Notebook? Use An Old Laptop Drive Instead!

These devices typically ship with two USB cables, although only one is for data; the second is a power lead. If you can find a suitable adaptor that won’t burn your DVD drive out then by all means use this, but the USB power cable is a reasonable alternative. It does mean, of course, that you will need two spare USB ports on your computer or hub.

Once connected, the drive should appear under My Computer, along with all other storage devices. Remember that it is being detected as a USB device, so if it isn’t listed, try restarting your computer.

Conclusion: An External DVD Drive for Pennies!

It’s always good to be able to retrieve something of use from old hardware, whether it be a stick of memory, an old keyboard or even a storage device. While it is easy enough to fix your slimline optical drive into one of these housings, it’s perhaps a shame that they’re not already designed for easy connection to a desktop computer (or even a different laptop) without the plastic case being fitted.

ext dvd from laptop dvd No DVD Drive On Your Tablet Or Notebook? Use An Old Laptop Drive Instead!

Ultimate, however, this is one of the best cannibalisation projects for owners of old laptops, so when you’re looking online for a new external optical drive, just think about the one sitting in your old notebook, and use it!

Have you already connected your laptop DVD drive to your PC? Perhaps you’ve discarded all of your optical drives and discs already (after all, there are several alternatives and creating ISO files is much easier now)? Let us know in the comments.

“Kids break things, so we added a two-year, no-questions-asked, worry-free guarantee,” said Peter Larsen, Vice President, Amazon Devices.

Larsen added that the device is a real, honest-to-goodness tablet and “not a toy.”

In addition to its padded and more colorful exterior, the kids’ tablet allows parents to make individual profiles for their children, including screen-time limits and other parental controls.

To help prevent parents from experiencing bill shock, the Fire HD Kids Edition also will come with a year of Amazon’s FreeTime Unlimited program for books, movies, apps and games.

The tablet will be available on Oct. 21 and cost $149 for the 6-inch version and $189 for a 7-inch display.

Amazon also reintroduced its Kindle Fire HD tablet, which gets a sharper display as well as a starting price of $99 for the base 6-inch model with 8 gigabytes of internal storage. It also comes with a 7-inch variant that starts at $139.

Amazon.com founder and CEO Jeff Bezos played up the cost-to-performance ratio of the new Fire HD, particulary in comparison to competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.

“Fire HD is the most power tablet under $100,” Bezos said.

Both sizes of the new Fire HD will come in five colors: black, white, magenta, cobalt and citron. For folks who prefer plain, normal English, cobalt is actually dark blue and citron is lime green.

The Fire HD will feature a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor as well as a front-facing VGA camera and a 2-megapixel rear facing camera capable of taking 1080p video. it will be availbale for sale on Oct. 2.

Meanwhile, the flagship Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 retains the resolution and screen size of the previous model but gets a faster 2.5 GHz processor and a 70 percent boost for its graphics engine, according to Amazon.

Amazon is clearly setting its sights against Apple’s popular iPad when it comes to the Fire HDX 8.9, which starts at $379. At 339 pixels per inch, Amazon touts that the HDX screen has 30 percent crisper than the iPad’s Retina display. Volume on the device also can be pushed twice as loud as the iPad and its 13.2-ounce body is lighter than the iPad Air, according to Amazon.

“The team has packed an incredible amount of technology and innovation into the new Fire HDX,” Bezos said.

Like the Fire HD Kids Edition, the HDX 8.9 will be available on Oct. 21.

Amazon also paid attention to fans of the original E-Ink Kindle with two new e-readers featuring its latest black-and-white Paperwhite display.

The big dog in Amazon’s traditional e-reader lineup is now the wireless Kindle Voyage, which features a high-resolution, 6-inch display and an adaptive front light that’s legible even in direct sunlight. The new e-reader also uses a new feature known as PagePress, which lets users turn pages by simply pressing the e-reader’s bezel or borders.

Pricing starts at $199 with ads enabled and $219 without ads. The Voyage will be on sale on Oct. 21.

Rounding out Amazon’s list of new devices is the basic Kindle reader, which focuses on cost instead of the bells and whistles found in the Voyage. Its 6-inch display features a lower resolution but the device also costs much less, $99 or $79 for the ad-enabled version. The new Kindle will arrive on the market earlier at Oct. 2.

Oscar-winner Robin Williams, after a struggle with sobriety and depression, was found hanging inside his California home after a 911 call, a source told the Daily News. The call reporting the discovery of the 63-year-old iconic comedian came at 11:55 a.m. Monday, and paramedics were not dispatched to the scene, the source said Tuesday.

I found out about the death of Robin Williams an hour before I left for a stand-up show. It was interesting to see people’s reactions at the club. Only one comic brought up his death on stage. Maybe it was the alcohol or the audience’s indifference but they seemed to turn on the comic as he was talking about it. I guess people are immune to death or because they came to a comedy club to laugh and not talk about death, but the reaction surprised me.

Robin Williams in 2002

I personally think it’s important to remember the kind of person he was. He paid for Christopher Reeve’s medical bills after the “Superman” actor was left paralyzed. The two were lifelong friends after being roommates in college at Juilliard and at the time of Reeve’s accident, he had no health insurance.

Read More Actor Robin Williams found dead in apparent suicide

As a fellow comedian, I find it amazing the depth of roles that Robin Williams could play. Here are the five roles I remember Robin Williams for the most:

5. Louie, episode 3 Season 6. Barney/Never.

In this episode, Robin Williams (playing himself) meets Louie CK at a diner after a funeral. They start talking and realize that they both hate the guy that died and how horrible a human being he was. They talk about how he stiffed them. They were the only two that showed up at the funeral and decide to go to the strip club that their “friend” used to go to in honor of him. There they make a pact that whoever dies first, they have to attend each other’s funeral.

The irony of them joking about death sticks out in my mind because of how real it is. I had never really known anyone that died until the last year and now have attended four funerals. The point is to remember the living — not the dead.

4. Good Morning Vietnam.

This was the first movie I really remember Robin Williams in. He was an unorthodox DJ that shook things up when he gets assigned to the U.S. Armed Services Radio in Vietnam. So many of his broadcasts were improvised, I think it was his funniest movie.

3. Aladdin.

My favorite cartoon of all time is “Aladdin.” And Williams’s role as the genie was so great. His multiple impersonations from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Ed Sullivan were amazing and played like a stand-up routine. He seemed superhuman and in many ways it was his perfect role. It probably was the role that earned him a new generation of fans.

2. Good Will Hunting.

This was the role for which he won a well-deserved Academy Award. It was a much more serious role than he was used to, where he played a therapist who helps a misguided genius reach his potential. The defining scene in the movie for me is the park scene when he tells “genius” Will Hunting (Matt Damon) that he doesn’t know anything. He breaks him down. He tells him he can’t learn from a book. He tells Will that he doesn’t know real loss because he hasn’t felt real love. It reminds me of telling a young trader that he thinks he is smart but he doesn’t know anything yet.

1. Dead Poets Society.

I saw this movie many times in high school and I still get chills at the end of the movie. In this movie, he plays a teacher that inspires his students to seize the day which ultimately gets him fired. The final scene where he returns one last time to collect his stuff defines his life to me.

It’s the scene where the meek and quiet Ethan Hawke and other students get up on the desk and recite, “O Captain, my Captain,” a poem by Walt Whitman.

Captain, you will be missed.

Day 1 E3 2014: Nintendo Direct Digital Event

What will we see from this year’s E3?

It’s finally the first day of the Expo! We had a long, tiring day running from conference to conference but today was Nintendo’s day to shine.

But did it? The Nintendo Direct Digital Event was pretty dang short and didn’t give us as much as wanted. Though a lot of games were announced, like an open world Zelda title for the Wii U.

We also saw the announcement of the previously leakedMario Maker where you can create your own Mario courses. Thanks said leak, there will probably be a demo of this on the show floor.

Following in the footsteps of Disney’s Skylanders, Nintendo officially announced Amiibo, little figurines players can place on their systems to import characters into games.

Hello, Nintendo

Other big titles include Xenoblade Chronicles X, Super Smash Bros., Bayonetta 2 and more.

Read all about the games coming to Nintendo right here!

We’re hitting the Expo floor soon so keep your eyes peeled for more news! It’s going to be another long day …

Face off!

Press conferences and news

E3 is off with a bang! Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony are all holding Day 1 press conferences, and we’re gathering all the news you need to know below.

Plus, there was a little something on the Steam Machine front from Alienware.

Keep it locked on this page for more from video gaming’s biggest show as we’ll have plenty more – including news from Nintendo – to share as the week goes on.

In the meantime, here’s what we wanted to see before all the press conferences. As the show wraps up, we’ll also let you know our favorite parts of this year’s E3.

Microsoft at E3

It was games, games and more games for Microsoft’s at E3. The emphasis was of course on the company’s Xbox Oneconsole, and many titles were teased for this year and next.

The company gave word of The Master Chief Collection, a package of Halo 1 – 4 that will eventually include access to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta. The Collection comes out November 11 for $59.99 (about £35, AU$64). The Halo 5 beta is out in December, and as an extra bonus The Master Chief Collection includes Halo: Nightfall. The original series from Ridley Scott and Sergio Mimica-Gezzen will provide an origin story for a crucial Halo 5 character.

A limited beta release is coming in December

Also revealed by Microsoft was a new Tomb Raider called Rise of the Tomb Raider. The new title, out in 2015, gives a look at how Lara Croft became the bad ass we know her as today.

As for the other major titles, Call of Duty fans can grab the new Advanced Warfare on November 4. Forza Horizon 2 will be out September 30 followed nearly a month later by Insomniac’s Sunset Overdrive, due out October 28.

Spine-tingling CoD excitement

Thanks to Ubisoft, we learned Assassin’s Creed Unity is due the same dayas well.

Rise, Lara. Rise

Other games include October 21′s Disney Fantasia, a new digital-only Dance Central game and a (take a deep breath) new DLC expansion for Dead Rising 3: Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX Plus Alpha. It’s not really a game per say, but Capcom hopes it serves to celebrate its “31st fanniversary.”

A Fable Legends multiplayer beta is due this fall and we got a good look at Dragon Age: Inquisition.

All the Xbox One games coming this year can be found right now

There was plenty of time devoted to Xbox One games releasing in 2015 besides Rise of the Tomb Raider, including a new Crackdown and a dragon-slaying adventure called Scalebound.

mutant energy drinks 9 E3 2014: All the latest from gamings biggest show

A shot of Sunset Overdrive

Keep your head up for The Witcher 3: Wilde Hunt, a new title in the Phantom Dust series and Ubisoft’s Division next year, too.

Microsoft showed a quick succession of new indie games, including Aztez, Knight Squad, Plague Inc Evolved, White Night, Earthlock: Festival of Magic, Cuphead, Hyper Light Drifter, Lifeless Planet, Slash Dash, Fru, Lover in a Dangerous Spacetime, Mighty No. 9, Grave, Threes, FenixRage, Woolfe, #IDARE, Hellraid and Below.

EA naturally focused on games for all platforms – Xbox One, PS4 and PC – during its EA presser, and some major titles got some major news during the proceedings.

Battlefield Hardline was given its due, but the most exciting thing about the new title was that it’s opening up in betaon PS4 and PC. However, it’s a first come, first served deal and only running for a limited time.

(Try to) join the fun

Also on EA’s docket was a tease. Well, actually, two teases that provided few details but plenty of buzz.

A new Mass Effect is on the way, maker BioWare confirmed, however beyond the fact that it’s not part of the franchise trilogy, there’s little to go on.

How Faith came to be

New looks were given to Mirror’s Edge 2, though more attention was paid to how DICE built the world around Faith (and Faith herself) instead of details like plot, settings and release date. We do know it will be an origin story of sorts. Oh, and she’s got way better parkour moves this time around.Ubisoft at E3

Perhaps the strangest press conference of the day, Ubisoft didn’t disappoint in showing its next-gen games. It did have the Day 1′s only on-stage dance-off to showcase the new mobile Just Dance Now, for better or for worse.

ubisoft dance off 12 E3 2014: All the latest from gamings biggest show

See what we mean

Things started out promising enough with a trailer for Far Cry 4 (out November 18) and Archer’s Aisha Tyler before taking a turn with Just Dance 2015, Just Dance Now and a fitness game called Shape Up.

We did learn Assassin’s Creed Unity will release October 18 on the Xbox One and PS4. What’s more, here’s a gameplay trailer to whet your whistle and know that four-layer co-op has been confirmed:

The proceedings did end on a high-note though as Ubisoft confirmed Rainbow Six Siege, – a five-on-five first-person shooter. Early gameplay footage of Siege pitted two teams of five – one set terrorists, the other SWAT – against one another in the attempt to rescue/hold a hostage in a small, presumably suburban, home.

The first Rainbow in six years

Rainbow Six Siege will be released sometime in 2015 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.Meet ‘Alpha,’ Alienware’s Steam Machine

It was quiet on the Steam Machine front on Day 1 except for one vendor – Alienware.

The firm revealed the name of its Steam Box to be Alpha and said it would release in time for the 2014 holiday season. The plan is to have it ship with an Xbox 360 controller since the Steam OS and Steam Controller aredelayeduntil next year. However, Alpha will be compatible with other gamepads, Alienware told TechRadar.

The Alpha dog of Steam Machines?

The console’s price starts at $549 (about £327, AU$588) and like Valve had promised, its parts will be swappable.Sony at E3

Sony. Oh, Sony. How confident you were, and rightly so. Not only did the makers of the PS4 announce new titles, it also came out with, surprise: new hardware.

First up, we expected Microsoft to unveil a white Xbox One, but Sony instead announced its own white PS4 console. The bleached console will be available bundled with the game Destiny and a 30-day subscription to PlayStation Plus.

The PS Vita TV system has been available in Japan for awhile now but Sony has rebranded the hardware asPlayStation TV and is bringing it to North American and European shores in the fall. The PlayStation TV will sell for $99 (about £58, AU$105) on its own and $139 (about £82, AU$148) as part of a bundle that includes a DualShock 3 controller, an HDMI cable, an 8GB memory card and your very own copy of the Lego Movie video game.

Major game announcements ranged from a surprising, brand new Little Big Planet 3 to the teased-before, and the highly anticipated Uncharted 4 – where we finally got … a slightly longer trailer.

a thiefs end 15 E3 2014: All the latest from gamings biggest show

No, don’t say goodbye, Drake and Sully…

Bloodborn, or the formerly leaked Project Beast, was also teased and got the internet-verse in a happy tizzy thanks to all the love for Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls developer and creator, both of which are behind the new title. Bloodborn is scheduled for a 2015 release.

Equally crowd pleasing, was another surprising announcement: a remaster and re-release of the classic adventure game Grim Fandango.

As if that wasn’t enough, Sony also told us we can travel to GTA V’s Los Santos on the PS4 this fall with Rockstar revealing that the Xbox One and PCs will also get a share of the popular game.

Finally, the PlayStation Now beta opens up for PS4 beginning on July 31 in the US and Canada.

E3 2014: Sony, Microsft, Ubisoft and EA

Update: There’s only a few days left but that hasn’t stopped the rumors. On the second page you’ll find a bit on Nintendo and a few more games as well. We’ve also added the official Battlefield Hardline trailer, if you’re into that (because why not?). As always, keep checking back for more news.

E3 2013 was the most competitive and downright crazy shows we’ve been to in the recent history of gaming. The Xbox One went head-to-head with thePS4 and began a new generation of console gaming.

But that doesn’t mean it was all great. After all, it’s been a whole year and there still aren’t a lot of games on the roster. That’s why we figure at this year’s June 10-12 Los Angeles event, big games are coming out to play.

Though that’s not all we’re expecting to see – virtual reality was the star ofGDC 2014 and there likely will be a ton more information from Sony, Oculus and other companies – if they’re smart and get in on the growing VR revolution.

We’re also hoping to see more of the Valve Steam Machines in action and perhaps hear an announcement from Nintendo to see just what the heck the über private company’s been up to.

The official E3 2014 floor plans have been released and it looks like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are lumped together in the West Hall with the other big names like Ubisoft and EA in South Hall.

Check out a more detailed list of what we want to see at E3 2014 below, and as we continue to update the page for more information leading up to our coverage of the show floor.Sony sets sights on VR

OK so it looks like Sony has something big planned for its PlayStation conference – what else could explain why its live-streaming the event to 40 movie theaters in the US?

Could it be the new info on Project Beast that’s popped up? Or maybeUncharted 4? But are these titles popcorn-worthy? After Beast leaked, it’s been noted that the game is first in a series of brand new announcements so there could be something even bigger in the works. Only a few more weeks until the Expo to find out.

Other than that, Sony seems to be on a roll lately. With the success of thePlayStation 4 and the announcement of its virtual reality endeavors,Project Morpheus , all we need is a big game for the company to be unstoppable.

Speaking of Morpheus, we’re expecting to hear more about the headset during Sony’s June 9 Press Conference. We were lucky enough to test out the gear ourselves, not once but twice and were duly impressed both times.

Along the way, we found out that Sony’s headset will probably change quite a bit before it becomes available to buy. Plus that light bar isn’t just to be a flashy feature – Project Morpheus was one of the main reasons it was put on there.

This headset looks so promising, we might even see an announcement for aMorpheus-specific game at E3.

We’ll also probably hear more about PlayStation Now, Sony’s Netflix-esque gaming service. With the PS Now beta out since the beginning of the year for the PS3 and the PS4 beta just announced, and a release expected for mid-2014, it seems like it’ll fall perfectly in line with June’s Expo.

News of a PS4 Slim being announced at E3 has recently circulated, but probably isn’t going to happen. If anything, there’ll just be hardware updates coming soon.Microsoft says ‘Game on’

It’s been a more tumultuous year for Microsoft and the Xbox One (see: the PS4′s 7 million units sold to the Xbox One’s 5 million shipped) but it’s not like the console or company are losing fans anytime soon. A freshly revealedKinect-less Xbox is being released on June 9 for £350 ($399), which matches the PS4′s own camera-less price point – may just ramp up sales.

But so far, it’s mostly thanks to the Xbox One-friendly Titanfall that the next-gen console has remained in the ring. Ryse: Son of Rome also proved popular at a time when the PS4 didn’t have any big titles. Rumor has it that we’ll be seeing a sequel announced during the June 9 Microsoft conference. But the biggest announcement that has come from the Redmond-based publisher is surely Halo 5: Guardians – which, we’re bound to learn even more about when Microsoft hits the stage Monday morning.

Major Nelson has noted on his blog that the conference will be called Xbox: Game On, so it’s safe to say there will be at least one or two (hopefully more) titles announced.

But games aside (don’t worry, it’s a brief aside) we’ll probably learn more about Microsoft’s new entertainment model. Specifically, with the consoles turning into a one-box type of entertainment machine with music and TV, we may get previews of Xbox’s new, original shows including the Steven Spielberg-produced Halo show.

Check out more Sony and Microsoft rumors about E3 right here!

Year of Ubisoft?

French multi-national video game developer and publisher Ubisoft seems ready to show off more next-gen titles during E3.

Currently, the company has been quite busy with hit after hit thanks to Assassin’s Creed and likely, the upcoming Watch Dogs game (despite someWatch Dogs controversy stirred in). You also can’t deny that Tom Clancy’s The Division looks pretty dang cool ever since it was announced at last year’s E3. Though it’s been recently delayed until 2015, we’re still going to see snippets of the game.

Is Watch Dogs really that next-gen?

In fact, Ubisoft noted in a blog just what it plans on touting during the show. Along with Watch Dogs and The Division, we’ll see French Revolution-set Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 in the Himalayas and a few more games.

What Ubi isn’t bringing to the table are games available on the Nintendo platform. According to Slashgear, the company will not feature any Wii U or3DS titles during the show.Whatchu got, EA?

Forget the trailer leaks. Battlefield Hardline has an official teaser trailer out, that happens to tell us the release date too! We can all look forward to the new Battlefield 5, October 21 later this year – if there aren’t any delays, of course. Check out the video below and expect to see more during E3.

Battlefield rumors begone! A teaser video for Battlefield Hardline (yes, it’s official now) has leaked and shown off a different kind of war, the “war on crime.” Speaking of official, Steve Papoutsis VP and General Manager of Visceral Games, and Executive Producer for Battlefield Hardline hasdefinitely confirmed the latest BF5 game.

In a series of tweets, he notes that the footage we’ve seen is six months old and that we’ll indeed be seeing more about the game during E3. In fact, we may even see more teases before the June 9 conference. Though that’s not going to stop the slew of unofficial leaks – like the most recent ones of two multiplayer modes, Blood Money and Heist, on a map called High Tension.

hardline 4 E3 2014: All the latest from gamings biggest show

A game of cops and robbers, Battlefield-style

Battlefield 5 just got another whole heaping pile of rumors thrown out on the interwebs. It’s been known that the next iteration will depart from its usual militaristic setting for one where you play as the police. Meaning the nameSlashgear has thrown out, “Battlefield S.W.A.T.,” seems to make sense. And just like that, there are now even fresher rumor-y bits about the next BF5 game. VG247 reported that Battlefield Hardline may be the title. A recent Battlelog seemingly also provided various info on the possible playable classes (Enforcer, Mechanic, Operator, and Professional), game modes and more.

Mass Effect 4 has also been heavily teased by BioWare for awhile now and it seems about right to show us something at E3 – perhaps during EA’s press conference? Speaking of BioWare, it’s highly probable Dragon Age: Inquisition will be touted.

dragon 5 E3 2014: All the latest from gamings biggest show

We’re ready for those dragons

We’d like to see some Star Wars Battlefront and maybe (just maybe) Battlefield 5 thrown in as well. The Sims 4, which is coming out soon, is most definitely on the roster as well. At least one or even two of these games will see the light of the E3 stage – Geoff Keighley of Spike TVtweeted that six games will be revealed during the EA World Premiere conference.

E3 2014: Nintendo, Valve, and more games

Nintendo needs something. Anything.

Grainy pictures from the Expo have surfaced from Nintendo Enthusiastpossibly revealing the mystery 3DS game people have been speculating about: Mario Maker. From what we can see, there’s definitely a stylus in the image that appears to be designing a Mario level – which happens to coincide with the name suggesting players will be able to create their own Mario worlds. Similar to Microsoft’s Project Spark and Sony’s Little Big Planet.

mario maker 16 E3 2014: All the latest from gamings biggest show

Is this real life?

Looks like Nintendo president Satoru Iwata won’t be attending E3 this year due to medical issues. Nintendo issued the following statement:

“He’s been instructed by his physician not to travel overseas in the immediate future, and so he will not be making the trip to Los Angeles.

“It is business as usual for Mr. Iwata, and he continues his normal duties as president of Nintendo Co., Ltd. while he remains in Japan. As always, he will be actively involved in all of Nintendo’s activities at the show.”

It’s not a huge deal since the company will be holding another Nintendo Direct event on Tuesday morning before the convention floor opens.

Hopefully whatever Nintendo has planned will put it on the map again. Perhaps a few game announcements are in the works? Like, say, a Legend of Zelda for the Wii U? Or even some new hardware?

It’s actually already been confirmed by Nintendo that we actually won’t see hardware, but knowing the company’s insane privacy measures, we can still cross our fingers and wish. There’s also two new Pokémon games hitting Nintendo’s handhelds and, if our predictions are correct, a possible price drop in the Wii U’s future.

Valve probably (not?) taking a breather

Make that a long breather. Turns out Valve is pushing back the release date of those Steam Machines to 2015, noting a vague “release window” is to be expected in order to keep improving the Steam Controllers. On the bright side (maybe?), it’s a little unclear whether the delay affects only Steam Machines being made by Valve or those being sold by the 14 partner companies as well.

Recent news also suggests the Valve team has been quietly working on Half-Life 3. Yes. You read that correctly. Rumors of HL3 have been around for ages but maybe (probably not) something will come out during E3? If not, we’re hoping to see more on Left 4 Dead 3 at least.

There was plenty shared on the hardware front during CES, Steam’s Dev Days and GDC but aside from getting our paws on both iterations of the Steam Controllers, we still have yet to play around with a Steam Machine.

So far we’ve gone hands on with the Alienware Steam Machine, and though it’s a slick device, we’re hoping to really see it in action during the Expo.

With the Machines unleashing from the various third-party vendors “later this year” and a likely fall release for the redesigned Steam Controller, we’re hoping to hear more about the new features – like Steam Music.

Asus also just announced not one, but two whole Steam Machines during Computex 2014. Asus isn’t going to release them until 2015, but like the Alienware Machine during CES, the Asus boxes may show up at E3 for some demo time.

We know Valve has its own virtual reality headset thanks to Steam’s Dev Days conference – but we also know the company plans on helping out Oculus. That hasn’t stopped the VR device from popping up though.

Valve’s headset showed up in Boston during a VR meetup where devs were given the chance to go hands on with it. Since it seems to be making the rounds, might we see it during E3 too?

More games, NOW

A few titles have already been mentioned but let’s get right down to what games we want to see happen at E3 this year, and what games we know will be on the Expo floor.

GTA V for the PC is due pretty soon here and it won’t be a surprise if Rockstar decides to finally out it at the show.
uncharted 17 E3 2014: All the latest from gamings biggest show

Where you at, Drake?

Uncharted 4 (or whatever it’s called) has to show up with more footage during Sony’s conference – at least that’s the rumor flying around right now. Let’s just cross our fingers that the Naughty Dog exodus really won’t affect the game development.

The Order 1886 was teased during the last Expo and then throughout the year as a potential blockbuster game. Despite delaying its Christmas 2014 launch to early 2015, we’re still expecting the PS4 conference to show us even more of the game in June to keep us content.

We’ll also definitely see Batman: Arkham Knight on the floor too, even though its joined the list of delayed games. However, with the announcement of Mortal Kombat X, there should still be plenty for Warner Brothers to show off – especially with new characters on the fight roster.

Bethesda has also been a busy little bee. Could we see the announcement and teaser for Fallout 4? Who knows, but The Evil Within sure looks promising and will probably be on the show floor in some capacity.

evil within 18 E3 2014: All the latest from gamings biggest show

Gross.

Well it looks like Fallout 4 is out of the picture. Bethesda and BattleCry Studios announced a collaboration that spawned the upcoming free-to-play game BattleCry. However, it will be a PC exclusive and doesn’t seem to match up with the following previously reported rumor below …

Bethesda has fervently stated that there will be no announcement for a new title, but siteVideogamer took a screenshot of an Amazon UK placer page which suggests Bethesda might just unveil something after all. Whatever the Skyrim publisher has in mind, it seems it will be out on the PS3, PS4, PC,Wii, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

Microsoft’s Project Spark has seemingly failed to capture the attention of gamers since its announcement at last year’s E3, but the beta sounds like its been successful so far. We expect to see and hear more about the company’s answer to a Little Big Planet-esque game. Activision’s latest Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare should also give the Xbox One more oomph

Regardless of what gets announced, we just really want more games. There’s nothing wrong with wanting more games, right? In the meantime, keep up with us as we countdown the days to the Expo and fill up the page with even more news and bits of rumors to keep your gaming appetites satiated.
